Monday Fun-Day: Colonial Dorchester Park

Nick, Laurel, and I went to this cool little park with some ruins from before the Revolutionary War.

First we came upon this old, tall building. Not sure what it was used for in this
abandoned town, but I did manage to get some cool shots!

You know something is old when the building is covered with these!

I even got a shot of my handsome hubby studying!

Next, I made my way to the fort. The walls of this fort had old oyster shells mixed inside the material.
How cool is that?!

Then, I just decided to spend the rest of the time walking around the rest of the
property and catching only some of the beautiful scenery.

It was extremely humid, so we jetted home just in time before the storm came. What an awesome place with so much history!

Monday Fun-Day: Botany Bay

Another Monday Fun-Day photography trip at Botany Bay!

Before getting to Botany Bay, we stopped at this long, dirt road shaded by trees. Absolutely beautiful!

Had to get a black and white for this shot!

Our first stop at Botany Bay was right next to this huge field with this beautiful horse. I even hopped
in there and fed this sweet horse some grass!

Next, we came upon this huge sunflower field.

Then we had a half a mile walk to get to the beach. Along the way,  I came upon these cute, little flowers.

...and some tiny crabs scurrying about...

...and some beautiful scenery.

Finally, we made it to the beach and boy was it a sight! There were trees and broken seashells
covering the whole beach! There were even seashells hanging from the fallen trees!

There was even a tree standing straight up in the middle of the water!

On our way back we ran into these beautiful, purple flowers. Despite the thorns,
I was determined to get some shots of them!

After battling the intense heat, we got back into the car and went home. What a beautiful place to see and what a great day we had!

Monday Fun-Day: Cypress Gardens

My mother-in-law Laurel and I took a trip to Cypress Gardens and I had a blast taking all of these!

First, we went to the butterfly garden where I captured just some of the absolutely stunning butterflies and flowers!

Thought I would try a black and white on this one.

As we were walking down a small pathway, I met a little friend and he allowed me to take his picture!

Here are some of the beautiful shots from our boat ride on the swamp. This swamp is where they filmed some scenes of the movies The Patriot and The Notebook.

On our boat ride, we encountered a few alligators. This one is the biggest one in the swamp! Yikes!

The whole swamp was covered in these pretty white flowers! Cool fact: The flowers are attached to the lily pad and when it gets too hot outside, the lily pad tells the flowers to close up so it wont die.

After out boat ride, we walked down another path and I got to capture some more of the beautiful flowers on the property!

Unfortunately, our journey ended here after trying to battle with some of the bloodthirsty bugs trying to attack us, but it was all worth it after the amazing day we had!
